The truth about period blood colour

This is something we rarely talk about and to be honest I had no idea about when I was struggling with my hormones.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Understanding what is going on in our body is the first step at being able to support it properly. There are several free ways we can tune into what is going on for our health and hormones and noting the colour of your period blood is a one of those. ⠀⠀

Here are what the different colours mean:

Red - Fresh blood and a steady flow

Brown - Beginning or end of period, stagnant blood or early sign of pregnancy

Black - Beginning/end of period or vaginal blockage

Pink - Period blood mixed with cervical mucus, significant weight loss, unhealthy diet, anaemia⠀⠀⠀

Orange - Period blood mixed with cervical mucus, possible infection

Grey - Bacteria Vaginosis or other infection⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It wasn't until I started paying attention to what my hormones were doing and taking supportive steps to restore balance that I realised that having brown period blood (often the case when on contraceptives) wasn't necessarily an indicator of a healthy period. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is something I ask all my clients as it helps to give an initial indication as to what support may be needed. And it makes me so excited when clients report that their period is now a healthy red colour indicating fresh blood and a steady flow, a sign that things are more balanced.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Is this something that you have every paid attention to? Share with friends that you think will benefit, I would love to know your thoughts too.
